We've just returned from a brilliant New Years Eve with you. Perfect location and accommodation. The pub was a hoot, Bath on the doorstep, the walks were everywhere and we enjoyed visiting your church and the Long Barrow, Saxon burial ground. Very interesting as well as comfortable. We are delighted also with the print we purchased from the cottage - an inspiring reminder. We will be back. Family R. 2/1/19
Incredible Christmas at The Art Cottage. We have never been so relaxed or comfortable. The beds were so comfy, the cottage so elegant and warm. Very near Bath and seconds walk from the superb pub. We will return. 5*. Thank you. Mr&Mrs Y.
An excellent place to stay, beautiful cottage and lovely surroundings. Good base for Bath with Park and Ride 2 minutes down the road. Good area for walking also. Loved our stay and look forward to a return trip. Caroline.
“Fantastic place, really quiet and beautiful and close to Bath. Highly recommend. Fantastic weekend” S
“Beautifully styled, immaculately presented and with stunning views in a lovely village, the Art Cottage was a perfect base for our weekend visiting our daughter, a first year student at the University of Bath. John was a very welcoming and perfect host.” J
Comfortable and relaxed surroundings. Cottage as described. Good location to Bath. Parking around cottage but we were allowed to leave car on drive - was a plus point. Arvinder.
“Just to say we had a lovely weekend at the Art Cottage, the decor, facilities and location were exactly what we were looking for and hopefully we'll return next year for another break. Thanks for your kind hospitality.”
“We have a wonderful few days staying in the Art Cottage, and John was the perfect host! The cottage is beautifully decorated with art, rivaled only by the views outside. We truly had a wonderful few days in Wellow. The art cottage was perfect iin every way! I'm sure you'll see us again Thanks again, A & A & S
"Just perfect. The warm beautiful cottage, soft beds, amazing art, beautiful village, great pub. We will definitely be back, particularly to see the views and to explore Bath which is so near" Mr & Mrs RB
“Great place. Ideally situated in Wellow - a lovely stay.”
What a find. We will be back for sure. The Gregsons
“A great base for exploring Bath and all the wonderful villages, country houses and gardens nearby. Then back to the cottage for peace and serenity. Our hosts left us alone which is how we prefer it. Great sleep on divine bed, excellent lounge area and the kitchen, although compact, had all we needed for a short stay. The pub in Wellow, the Fox & Badger, provides good meals and excellent real ale. Just need to ensure you bring food provisions with you as options in the village are very limited. Would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a peaceful, enjoyable stay in the Somerset countryside.” Graham/Australia
“This is a really beautiful cottage and gardens set in a most peaceful village and close to Bath.John is a really kind host and I would recommend this to anyone who is in the Bath area. Jerry O'Reilly/Ireland
"The typical and pretty village of Wellow is a great location close to Bath and the university. The charming garden offers the possibility of having lunch outside if the weather allows it. The accommodation is very comfortable, very well decorated and John took the time to welcome us to show us the operation of the house, tell us directions to Bath ..... "
“John and Emma’s cottage is just lovely! Stunningly decorated like a boutique hotel the photos are completely accurate. The walls are covered in Emma’s stunning art and her studio is right next door which we were invited to see. As hosts they could not have been nicer, even inviting us to a showing of Emma’s art back in London next month. The gardens are beautiful and they left us a bottle of wine to enjoy on arrival. The pub, village shop and children’s playground are a short walk away. And Bath was only 20 minutes drive. A perfect country getaway spot.” Z & J
“A wonderful place for a quiet family getaway. Our kids really enjoyed the back garden. The cottage was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed!” B
“Wonderful accommodation, beautiful setting, very comfortable, lovely welcoming hosts. Thank you for the welcome bottle of Prosecco, such a lovely surprise! We had a perfect weekend away and would recommend this accommodation to anyone. ” Sam

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful location. Very easy taxi ride into bath. Lovely local pub with brilliant food especially after a great walk. Will definitely be back. We stayed here as a group of 3 adults. Plenty of space and even had a supermarket delivery which was perfect as we arrived my train. Great communication from the hosts. Thank you ?? Marsha

We had such a wonderful trip staying in The Art Cottage. John and Emma were lovely hosts and the location was perfect. The cottage is beautifully styled and has everything that you could want on your trip. We will definitely be back to visit again. Laura
“What a find! An elegant, cosy cottage tucked away in a pretty valley just a stones' throw from Bath. Honestly, a fantastic location. The village of Wellow itself is delightful (with an excellent pub) and there are lots of lovely walks to be had in the surrounding countryside. The views alone across the enormous garden are absolutely idyllic. John and Emma, the hosts, were instantly communicative when booking and also extremely helpful during our stay, offering all sorts of useful local tips and advice. They have clearly put a lot of thought into creating a very comfortable environment for their guests and the attention to detail is seriously impressive - from the soft beds to the well-equipped kitchen. You really couldn't ask for more. We came away rested, uplifted and determined to return. To top it all, Emma is a wonderful artist and we liked her paintings so much, she's now painting one for us! Highly recommended. A very happy place to be.” Mr RB
Idyllic setting, stylish space, amazing garden and backyard space. Also very clean. Highly recommended! Kiran and family
Transflated from chinese..."very quietly located countryside house, clean and tidy, very suitable for English holiday and countryside experience, very nice landlord prepared to answer any questions you may have, would be a great stay."
What a beautiful place. Really comfy beds, amazing view, incredibly atmospheric. Private and yet in the heart of a perfect English village and only took us just over 10 minutes to get to Bath. The local pub Fox&Badger is great - fab food and one minutes walk away. We will come back again.

John & Emmas cottage is lovley. Set I n a lovley quiet village with a great pub that serves good food. The few days a away was a lovley rest away from the city . It was a fantastic setting to get some quiet time. Thanks again Glen from Scotland
“Emma and Johns cottage is a rare find! It’s simply beautiful! Fully equipped, and spacious with everything and more! Its a classy “home away from home” with uninterrupted views of the garden and valley. The interior is immaculate and it was a joy to admire Emma’s wonderful artwork on the wall. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough to anyone visiting the surrounding countryside or like us for those wanting to visit Bath without staying in the City. Last but by no means least- Emma and John are fantastic hosts; caring and incredibly attentive. We arrived late due to the adverse weather and we couldn’t have revived a warmer welcome at 11.15pm! We most definitely will return!”
“Excellent stay at " The Art Cottage" very well equipped with everything you need, John & Emma were very welcoming hosts, hope to return soon. Highly recommend the Fox and Badger.”
We stayed for a short weekend in the Art House and had a great time. We were two adults and three kids and it perfectly fits this company size (2 kids in a sofa bed and one in a small separate bedroom). The house interior is brand new and spotless clean, there is a nice garden outside and a well equipped small kitchen for basic food preparation - we only used the French Press coffee maker. John and Emma the hosts were super nice and quick to respond - they live in a house behind the Art Cottage, but you have complete privacy. The village itself is conveniently located 6 miles from Bath and has a nice atmosphere and a good pub where you can get dinner (reservations are required). Overall, very recommended.
Great place for a relaxing weekend! We hope to come back in the summer
What a stunning place the Art Cottage is. We loved our weekend here. Very comfy beds and pillows. Everything you could want, plus lovely views from bedroom and sitting room. The Art in the cottage is enchanting and we intend to commission Emma to paint our view at home when the spring comes. The village is just perfect and the pub does amazing food. Thank you so much. See you in the summer.
