The Art Cottage is a gorgeous two bedroomed holiday let, sleeping 5, nestled in the centre of idyllic Wellow village and just 5 miles from the Heritage City of Bath.
Off the road and entirely private, The Art Cottage has been recently renovated and decorated with beautiful furnishings and fabrics and original artwork. It is situated in the grounds of Knight’s Barn, a 1640 cruciform barn in the conservation area of Wellow.
The Art Cottage looks out over a large garden onto the valley below which is south west facing.

Exposed beams, oak flooring, Farrow&Ball paint, Oka accessories, French bed linen, hypo-allergenic pillows and duvets. Television, wifi, books, luxury toiletries all conspire to give you a warm welcome.
There is a large double bedroom with french doors leading onto a private garden terrace. A single bedded room. A bathroom - with shower over bath. A kitchen with oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and everything else you would expect. In the extra utility room, there is a large fridge freezer, washing and drying machine, iron, Henryhoover.
The sitting room and dining area are combined, with french doors again, looking out over extensive gardens to a valley south facing view. There is a large TV - with the internet, netflix. An eletric fire, central heating, original artwork and a delightful air.

Voted Best Village in UK in 2014 by The Sunday Times, Wellow boasts a gastro pub, a community run village shop, a school, playing fields, a Medieval Church, Packhorse Bridge and Brook, and the well known Trekking centre. Cyclist heaven, as the cycle track straight into Bath comes into the village. You can store your bikes undercover either in the walkway next to the front door of the cottage, or in a shed within the gardens.

Wellow is in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, on the very tip of the Cotswolds, only 6 miles south of Bath. The area is recognised as having special architectural and historic interest, and is a haven for history lovers, ramblers, cyclists and artists.
Wellow has a vibrant and welcoming community. The Art Cottage is situated right in the heart of the village. While being so central it is also entirely private and quiet.
Stars - Wellow is famous for having no street light, so at night it is a joy to look up and see the night sky, with no pollution, and lots of stars.

Cycling: Wellow is based on the Sustrans Cycle Network (route 24) with links to Bath, Bristol and Frome. You can venture onto the iconic Bath Two Tunnels Circuit; which is the UK’s (and possibly Europe’s) longest cycling/walking tunnel.
There is also relatively easy cycling further afield to Frome and Mells.

The Art Cottage is approached from the main road, down the drive of Knight’s Barn. In front of you is an undercover walkway - the cottage is to the right, the Art Studio is to the left.
Through the walkway (to the back of the cottage) is an absolutely stunning view of the valley, across the large garden - yours to enjoy.
Also at the back of the cottage is a garden table and chairs and a Lutyens bench. Also plenty of benchs in the garden to relax on.
There is plenty of free parking in the village. You can park right outside Knight’s Barn on the road. There is also a free car park in the village.
CHECK IN and INFORMATION
Normal check in is after 3pm and check out is before 11am.
Minimum stay is for 2 nights, unless it is a Bank Holiday Weekend, when the minimum stay is 3 nights. Key - the key will be found in a key safe on the wall.
Minimum booking 1 week during July and August.

Please be so kind as to separate all recyclable items (glass/plastic/tins, newspapers and cardboard)
and put in the green bins provided - outside the french doors of the sitting soon. Black bags to be put in the black bins at the house gate by the road.
All heating in the cottage is electric and individually controlled.
Please kindly switch off the lights, heating and make sure the doors and windows are closed. Please leave the property clean and tidy. Feel free to sign the guest book.
Please put keys back into the key safe.
