WELLOW

Wellow is in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, on the very tip of the Cotswolds, only 6 miles south of Bath. The area is recognised as having special architectural and historic interest, and is a haven for history lovers, ramblers, cyclists and artists.

Wellow has a vibrant and welcoming community. The Art Cottage is situated right in the heart of the village, so is steps from the hot spots. While being so central it is also entirely private and quiet.

Stars - Wellow is famous for having no street light, so at night it is a joy to look up and see the night sky, with no pollution, and lots of stars.

There is a community run village shop :

Playing fields for chidren and adults including a childrens playground, adult outside gym and tennis courts.

Ancient Saxon burial site on the ridge overlooking Wellow “Stoney Littleton Long Barrow” - one of the finest accessible examples of a Neolithic chambered tomb.

Packhorse Horse Bridge and Wellow Brook (very good for paddling and Pooh Sticks)

Cycling: Wellow is based on the Sustrans Cycle Network (route 24) with links to Bath, Bristol and Frome. You can venture onto the iconic Bath Two Tunnels Circuit; which is the UK’s (and possibly Europe’s) longest cycling/walking tunnel.

There is also relatively easy cycling further afield to Frome and Mells.
